Who is Richard Stevens?

Richard qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1973. He has worked both in this country and abroad and in 1983 became the Head of Physiotherapy Services for St. Thomas' Hospital (the internationally renowned central London teaching hospital), and its associated hospitals.

During this period, Richard was closely associated with the work of the late Dr. James Cyriax MD, the founder of the science of Orthopaedic Medicine. This revolutionised the non-surgical approach within the medical establishment with regard to diagnosis and treatment of common spinal and all joint problems.

In 1990, for his contribution to Dr. Cyriax's ongoing work, Richard was elected a Fellow of the Cyriax Organisation.

In 1991, Richard left the NHS to become a private practitioner, practicing in Harley Street, London, W1. He now practices in Wimpole Street, London, W1, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire and Cardigan Wales.

He treats most injuries and conditions, specialising particularly in the manipulative treatment of neck and back problems, sports injuries and debilitating illness such as ME, fatigue syndromes and stress related illness.

His practice rooms contain a full range of state-of-the-art therapeutic equipment.

Since 1994, Richard has held the post of consulting physiotherapist to the Metropolitan Police Department of occupational health.

During their London seasons, Richard was the physiotherapist to "Riverdance"

Home visits are available in Central and North London and in South-West Hertfordshire. Richard provides appointments during normal working hours, and evenings, weekends and public holidays by individual arrangement with patients.
